Biography
"My love affair with the sea began as a child. There’s nowhere else on earth that I feel the same sense of space, light and color as I do by the sea. It’s only fitting that as an artist, I return to the sea over and over again in a quest to capture its essence on canvas.
My artwork usually begins “en plein air” (outdoors) and is completed in studio where I continue to build the painting and refine my thoughts. As an impressionist my paintings evolve over time. Rather than trying to copy and perfect, my goal is to allow the painting to take on a life of its own. This process leaves much to the viewer’s imagination and allows them to connect to my paintings with their own emotions and memories." - Lydia Meade
