Originally trained as a graphic artist and illustrator, Kathy Morrissey eventually turned to fine art and specifically oil painting. Both a plein air and a studio painter, Morrissey has studied extensively at the museum level and has taken various workshops with master artists in the United States and Europe. Recently she has spent time painting and being influenced by great art in France, Italy and Mexico.
Locally, Morrissey can be seen behind her easel painting coastal scenes and people from Portsmouth NH to Mohegan Island, Maine. Her work is easily recognizable by her use of a rich, vibrant color palette and unique design sense. Kathy’s work expresses a sense of the joy of color and light in everyday scenes. Morrissey is member of the Boston Guild of Artists and has exhibited her work throughout New England.
